An individual’s worldview forms the interpretive grid through which one discerns reality, triggering individual behavior and responses on a wide range of issues such as marital choice, buying habits, voting, media choices, ethics, and any number of life's decisions. From a strategic perspective, worldview creates an individual’s convictions regarding a wide range of social and cultural issues in areas such as law, politics, education, business, science, economics, and history. Differing worldviews result from varying belief systems, which impact decision-making not only on the controversial issues of the day, but also on the entirety of life’s concerns. This chapter describes the concept of worldview, the role of theological belief upon the creation of one’s worldview, and its implications on human decision-making.
